Detroit Cultivator
BUILDING RESILIENCE FOR COMMUNITIES EXPERIENCING GENTRIFICATION
Anchored by the Oakland Avenue Urban Farm, the Detroit Cultivator is an ambitious multidisciplinary initiative to transform Detroit's North End into a civic commons that will extend the impact of the farm throughout its neighborhood. In partnership with Akoaki architecture and design practice and a team of Michigan graduate students, I developed a strategic business plan for the Detroit Cultivator. The plan included a roadmap from the farm's current state, through early prototypes of the future vision, financial recommendations for each element of the new vision, and a proposal for a new governance structure.
