American School of Tangier
restoring trust in school leadership through new programs
After years of temporary leadership following an iconic headmaster’s passing, parents, students, and staff at the American School of Tangier had grown distrustful of new ideas and the school’s leadership amongst American schools in the region was beginning to slip. Anxious to reestablish trust and forward momentum, the newest administration identified launching a Model UN program as a strategic priority that would help the school catch up to its peer institutions and win back community support. In collaboration with a number of key AST stakeholders, I developed and launched AST’s Model UN program over just 4 short months and built a sustainability strategy for the program which has allowed it to continue growing for more than 5 years.
